Hi there, and welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by and wanted to learn a little bit about me. My name is Nena Holt, and I'm the co-founder and owner of Wise Owl Accounting. 

As a tax accountant, I bring over 30 years of experience in administration, accounting, and tax preparation to your corner. Over three decades, I've had the privilege of helping individuals and businesses stay organized, compliant, and confident in their finances. My approach is rooted in patience, precision, and desire to meet you exactly where you are, growing alongside your business every step of the way. 

In my day-to-day role, I handle a little bit of everything - from strategic tax preparation and filing to bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting. I utilize platforms like QuickBooks, Sage/Peachtree, Microsoft Office, and Drake Tax to bring total clarity and efficiency to your unique financial picture. Whether I am managing accounts receivable and payable or ensuring your year-end filings go smoothly, I approach every task with steady care and consistency. 

I hold a dual Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and Biology from Old Dominion University, along with a dual Associate's Degree in Science and Social Science from Virginia Peninsula Community College. I am also an a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Notary Public, and Tax Preparer. Additionally, my past service as a U.S. Coast Guard Ombudsman Officer deeply strengthened my bond with our veteran community and reinforced my lifelong commitment to helping others.

That mindset has helped me turn unexpected financial challenges into great opportunities, both for myself and the people I help.
